About Rennington

South East Farm, Rennington

Set some four miles east of Alnwick, easily accessed along the beautiful coastal & castle highway to Bamburgh, is the idyllic Northumbrian village of Rennington.  Open every Sunday from 11am until 3pm with no appointment necessary.

South East Farm, Rennington is an exclusive development of five stone properties comprising of three luxury barn conversions and two new build cottages facing the village green, just recently released by Stone Homes.
The farm buildings date from the 1700's and together was one of the earliest mechanised water mill race farmsteads in Northumberland. The original natural sandstone of their exteriors has been carefully restored by our stone team with the aim being to return the buildings to former prominence in once again enhancing this lovely village green setting.

U1 Mill Race, only recently sold, is the oldest farm building of the South East Farm Development, approached via a private driveway, set over three storeys and providing over 2200 sq/ft of living space and due for completion in May 2013 with a guide price of £550,000.00.

The first conversion to be completed by Stone Homes is U4 Jasmine Cottage - This single storey, three bedroomed property set on the boundary of South East Farm, has now been fully renovated to the highest of standards and now sold, awaiting it's a new owner to move in and share in the village lifestyle with easy links to the city, coast and country. The property is now available.

U5 Shepherds Rest - Is a detached, early Northumbrian work/life unit with the shepherd managing his herd from upstairs with the animals then living below. There are four bedrooms to the main property with the very cute detached stone built bothy providing an additional self-contained fifth bedroom complete with ensuite bathroom which would be equally at home as a design studio or work centre. Shepherds Rest is due for completion in November 2013 with a guide price of £650,000.00. The property is now reserved.

Construction has only just commenced upon U2 Lavender House and U3 Juniper Cottage, two reclaimed natural stone, three bedroomed new build properties. Whereas the aim with the barn conversions was to restore old buildings to replicate today, the precise look of when they were first built in the 19th Century. However, the mission for the new builds is simple, by utilising traditional building methods and materials both homes when finished will look and feel as if they were crafted in the same age as their historic neighbours, thus further enriching the architectural heritage of this very attractive development. Both new builds are planned for completion by Spring 2014 priced at £425,000.00.

All properties will feature the now typical Stone Homes touches with oversized oak staircases, bespoke kitchens, luxurious specification bathroom suites, traditional timber sash windows, feature chimneys, Farrow & Ball paints and luxurious floor coverings giving each a timeless quality which is echoed in the stylish interiors designed and carried out by the Stone Homes Interiors team.
Externally all homes feature a Heritage Oak style single garage with natural stone paving and boundary walls topped with antique coping stones to the perimeter of each property.
